Short answer: MINDSET

These are a few simple questions that I have found are important to ask oneself. Most people never observe how they think about different topics. They just think. It is extremely important to understand how you think about money (and everything else in life for that matter).
What you say to yourself decides for a great part how the outcome will be. You act as your unconscious thoughts tell you to do. This is true both when things are in your favor, and when things do go wrong. And both things will happen when you are making your living online – as well as in all other aspects of life. Therefore, it is of uttermost importance that you learn to observe your thoughts.
If you make your thought process conscious to yourself you are free to accept or decline the way you think. You can consciously decide that how you think e.g. about setbacks is something you are the master of. Your thoughts can be changed. This means that if you always see your setbacks in a negative context they will impact you negatively. It is your choice to not let them. They are only a natural part of your way to financial freedom. Obstacles are great for your learning process.
If you are able to see your thoughts from the “outside” you will experience this as very liberating and a great help.
What is your second most important asset for making money online?
Short answer: TIME
Of course, you have to have the basic PC, Internet connection, and a few other helpful things. But an absolutely most important asset is your time.
Time is limited, and when it’s gone it never comes back. You can’t recreate it. You can create money, money does not disappear (even though it can feel like that), you always have the possibility to create more. Time, when spent is gone forever. Money can be recreated. Money can be saved. Time is gone forever.
You have to devote a substantial amount of time if you are going to be able to make a living online. In this respect it works just as it does when you make your living offline in a “normal” nine-to-five job. Then you also devote several hours to work every day.
What is your third most important asset for making money online?
Short answer: CONSISTENCY
Consistency is the secret that decides if you make it or not. This you already know very well, and you have experience being consistent. You went through school, you most probably have committed to a job. You lined up every day and did what you had to do even if you didn’t really wanted to. This attitude also applies to working online. You have to meet up every day. It is true that you can be your own boss and therefore decide your own working hours, but that doesn’t mean that you can skip the work or postpone it as you please. You have to look at your online business as the business it is. Consistency is crucial. There is no free lunch. Make yourself a schedule. Even if you only have a few hours every week in the start-up period.
What is the smartest way to establish your online business?
Short answer: BRAND YOURSELF – BUILD YOUR OWN WEBSITE
Regardless of the kind of business you want to start – you need a base, an online headquarter where you have the main focus of your business. This means that you need a website of your own. It is extremely important that you own your domain name and website, and not build your business on top of someone else’s website like e.g. Facebook. If you have your own site you are the one deciding how it shall be designed, what kind of content it shall have, and that means how you present your business and yourself. You don’t have to subordinate to someone else’s rules, or experience that the site you have trusted with your work suddenly disappears and all your work is gone.
